Privacy Policy
Short version: this website does not know who you are unless you tell us. The products collect what they need to do their job and nothing else, and we do not sell any of it. The long version is below.
1Who This Covers
This policy applies to ridgecap.app and to the Ridgecap products reached from it — currently Closeout, and Roster when it ships. "Ridgecap", "we", and "us" mean Ridgecap, LLC.
2What Browsing This Website Records
The site you are reading is static files. It sets no cookies, has no tracking pixels, no advertising network, no session storage, and no login, which is also why there is no cookie banner — a consent prompt is required when a site sets non-essential cookies, and this one sets none at all.
Three things do happen when a page opens:
-
Fonts load from Google. The typefaces on this site are
requested from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.comwhen the page opens. That request tells Google your IP address and roughly what browser you are using. We do not see it and get nothing back from it. We intend to host the fonts ourselves, which removes this entirely. - Our host keeps standard server logs. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which records ordinary request data such as IP address, time, and page requested, for security and reliability. That is normal web hosting, not a Ridgecap analytics system.
- Our host counts visits. Cloudflare Web Analytics records which pages are opened, how fast they load, the page that sent you, and your browser, device type and country. It sets no cookie and does not fingerprint you; we see totals, not people.
3If You Ask Us for a Demo
The home page has a form for requesting a demo. It is the only thing on this website that collects anything, and it only collects it because you typed it in and pressed a button.
When you send that form, we receive:
- Your name, company, and work email.
- Your phone number, if you give us one. That field is optional and the form says so — leave it empty and we will reply by email.
- Which product or products you asked about.
- Anything you wrote in the optional note.
- The page you sent it from — so we can tell a request from the home page apart from one sent from a product page. It is a web address, not a browsing history, and we mention it because you did not type it and would otherwise have no way to know it was included.
It becomes an email to us and nothing else. There is no database behind that form, no CRM, no marketing list, and no automated follow-up sequence. It arrives in our inbox the same way a message from anyone else does, and a person replies to it. We use your address to answer you and for nothing else — sending it does not subscribe you to anything, because there is nothing to be subscribed to.
To stop the form being abused, it keeps a count of how many requests have come from your IP address in the last ten minutes. The count expires on its own when the ten minutes are up.
Three other companies necessarily handle it on the way: our host, which runs the code that receives the form and routes our mail; the service that sends it as an email; and the provider of the inbox it lands in. All three are named in section 7.
Changed your mind? Ask us and we will delete the message. See section 10 for how long it otherwise sits there, and section 9 for the rest of your rights.
4Links With a Tag on the End
We hand out cards and posters, and a link on one of them may carry a short
tag like ?c=jobfair so we can tell roughly which ones people
actually use. The tag is read from the address and nothing is
stored — no cookie, no identifier, no profile. It tells us a card
worked. It cannot tell us who you are.
5What the Products Collect
The apps are different from this website, because they cannot do their job without holding some information.
Closeout
- Account details for people at your company who sign in — name, work email, and a password we store only as a hash.
- Project and requirement information you enter.
- Files subcontractors upload, kept exactly as they arrived. We add structure around a document; we never alter or replace it.
- Contact details for the subcontractors you invite, so their upload links can be sent and tracked.
Roster In testing
Roster records who arrived on a site and when. That is information about workers, most of whom are employed by your subcontractors rather than by you, and who have no direct relationship with Ridgecap. We treat it accordingly:
- It is an arrival log, deliberately not a time clock, and it is not built for payroll or wage-and-hour use.
- No app to install, and no account for the worker to create.
- No location tracking, no biometrics, no photographs, no continuous monitoring — a scan records a scan.
Exact Roster fields, retention period, and the notice workers receive at the gate are still being decided, and will be described here before it ships.
6What We Never Do
- We do not sell your data, and we do not rent or trade it.
- We do not use your documents or project data to advertise to you.
- We do not build profiles of you across other websites.
7Who Else Touches It
Running software means using other companies for hosting, storage, and email delivery. They may process your data only to provide that service to us.
For the demo form on this website, that means:
-
Cloudflare — hosts the site, runs the small piece of
code that receives the form, and routes mail for
hello@ridgecap.appto our inbox. - Resend — turns that submission into the email we receive.
- Microsoft — hosts the Outlook inbox the message lands in.
The products use:
- Cloudflare — hosts the apps, and stores Roster's data.
- Supabase — stores Closeout's data and files, and handles signing in.
- Resend — delivers the email the products send.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety or our legal rights.
8Getting Your Data Back Out
Everything you put into a Ridgecap product comes back out whole, whenever you ask. A closeout package that can only be read inside the software that built it is not a closeout package. Export is a product feature, not a favour, and it does not require contacting support.
9Your Rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. Ask us and we will do it. We will not charge you for it and we will not make the experience worse for having asked.
10Keeping It
We keep account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, tell us and we will delete it. Backups roll off on their own schedule, so deletion is not instantaneous everywhere at once.
A demo request is different, because nothing stores it — it is an email sitting in our inbox. It stays there until we delete it, the same as any other message. If we do not end up working together it has no reason to be kept, and you can ask us to delete it at any point.
We delete demo requests that do not lead anywhere within 12 months of the last reply.
11Children
Ridgecap is a tool for construction businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
12Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with your data, we will tell account holders directly rather than quietly editing this page.
13Contact
Email hello@ridgecap.app — a real person reads it.
